The purpose of these photos is to show step by step, the process I go through to carve a gnome home.

This is a peice of cottonwood bark that has been sawed off square on the bottom so that it can sit on a shelf or table. When roughing I usually mount my bark to a carving vise because it makes carving the bark easier and safer.
