Ironically, I never met the lovely bride Karen until I set up her cake at her wedding. She had been abandoned by a Georgetown baker who left her hanging last minute (and was charging them $2K for a wedding cake!!) That's the most devastating thing possible to do to a bride unless there is an unavoidable life-threatening crisis!!! Sooo...here was her beautiful cake, and she loved it! She wanted a Dulce de Leche
cake, so we filled it up with the most scrumptious homemade filling you'll ever hope to taste! It's a big round cake that matched her dress--lots of vines, leaves, pearls, silver sparkles, and handmade royal-icing wild roses with clusters of silver dragees in the centers. The 3rd tier picked up the lace in the bride's dress. Red roses and silver leaves sparkled on the floral topper, complete with rhinestones and glitter. Glitter covered the whole cake, and the bottom board was covered with a 3-rhinestone band of jewels. There are little sprays of pearls on the bottom tier. This cake serves 204 and is a little more costly than most of our designs because of time involved--$3.50/serving, $40 floral topper (which included the flowers on this cake only). Price did not include delivery which depends on your venue--distance and accessibility (or you can have a friend pick up and stack your cake for you to avoid delivery cost!) You can hold your date with a one-third deposit (if your date is still available on our calendar), and the balance is due 30 days before the wedding.
