This is our home and what is left of it. It has been an unbelievable ordeal. Six months later we still have no home and we applied to SBA for a loan to rebuild in Florida. Only to be told if we moved we are no longer Katrina victims. Funny I still feel like a victim I still have no home. Red cross was no help to us at all. I urge others not to donate to them. They are a sham.

We had 14 1/2 feet of water and our SUV floated out of the garage. I prayed as the water got up to the first step from the top story. Five minutes later it started to receede. A coincidence maybe, but to me it was a prayer answered. We will rebuild on 20 acres in Live Oak, Florida no water around. I will miss the Gulf, but am just to old and tired to do this again.
