Analog audio It took me some time to get to the stage where I'm now with my Analog audio set. I started around 2000 when I got an old Thorens TD146 turn table and started tweaking it with an London Decca unipivot arm and a Sumiko Blue Point HOMC cartridge. At that time I owned a Copland integrated Hybrid amp with a phonostage. It sounded different to my CD player, not even better. But I've heard and read that it could be better than CD, so the search went on. In 2002 I came across the "La Musika" analog set at the VAD audio show in Veldhoven, near Eindhoven The Netherlands. This was a real revelation. Much better sound than I had ever heard from CD or any other medium. So it must be possible to get better sound from a vinyl source. The quest began! If you're not an eletronics guy, such as I am, (was) the first thing you're going to address is "vibration control", at first sight this is quite easy, it's virtualy impossible to break anything, you can just experiment and try various options. First starting with a decent audio rack, I started with a "Solid Steel 5.5 Silver" audio rack. One step forward. TO PROTECT MACHMAT FROM COPYISTS I HAVE DELETED PICTURES OF THE MACHMAT VCCS. |
