Wollombi is in the heart of the winegrowing area of the Hunter Valley. It has a population of 157 and most are employed in the wine industry, cattle farming or agricultural fields. The Hunter Valley produce some of the best wines in Australia.

Wollombi have their market days only four times a year on a long weekend. The Mayor is a keen Gourd Grower !!!!
