Outboard Shackle Bushing Hole
This shows the outboard side of the spring shackle mounting area. Note that the mount for the bushing is offset to the outboard side of the frame rail. This design allowed us to maintain a 1" clearance between the tire and the leaf spring yet have 1-1/2" clearance between the tire and the frame rail / wheel tub. Also shown is the flaned wheel tub filler panel, the additional support at the rear of the tub, the support tieing the front of the frame to the rocker panel and the original frame stub at the rear bumper support. The original frame rail was capped with a piece of 1/8" steel and has two threaded hole to bolt an exhaust hanger to it.
