The Baja Peninsula.
Starting just below California, "hot oven", the Baja Peninsula extends southward along the western shore of the Sea of Cortez. It meets the Pacific Ocean at is southern tip. There are two Mexican states on the peninsula, Baja and Baja California Sur. Cabo san Lucas is at the very tip of the peninsula, or the very tip of Baja California Sur. The Pacific Ocean runs along the western shore of the peninsula.
