I like the stand to tie around the hip area for most dolls. One could also use this stand idea for a sitting doll. Weight the bottom with plaster, make the band underarm height, and tie the doll in from under the arms. The back upright could be strengthened with the dowel stick and the whole back wrapped with floral tape and decorated too! A big sitting doll could have the stand made from a bleach or detergent bottle! Oh, My the possibilities!
