Inside Pocahantas Theater
The theater opened in 1931. and could seat 1250 people. The theater was operational until 19?? when some low life set fire to it and robbed us of a historical site.

I remember winning a shiny, new sled at a raffle that was held at the Pocahantas. I also remember going in on Sat. morning to find my Uncle Ernie at the Sock Hop while we were in town. I saw my first horror movie there: Dracula--only cost 10 cents admission price. Wonderful childhood memories!

I remember going to the Pocahontas when I was a child with my oldest brother to see The Sound of Music. Sadly, I watched it burn from my apartment window, it must have been 1980.

I remember making a trip down those dark stairs, at the far right of the lobby, to the "girls room" just to look at that tall BRAUTIFUL picture of Pocahontas! I would make that trip every time I went to the show, just to look at her. I thought she was sooooo beautiful!
