I began to knit preemie hats about 3 years ago in response to a request from a friend who is an NICU RN. I made 6 out of a pretty yarn, but they seemed so plain to me. Then I found perle cotton on cones, in 140+ colors and I was off and running. I've made ~1300 hats so far.
