Dick Scobee #71
Scobee's first flight was STS-41C and he perished on STS-51L Challenger. Before becoming a NASA Astronaut, Scobee was a test pilot at Edwards AFB, CA and piloted the B-52 Mothership during the X-24B Program and also piloted the X-24B on two flights. The bottom X-24B cover, signed by Scobee in 1976, two years before he became a NASA Astronaut, displays his earlier autograph style. It is quite different from his later style applied to STS-41C cover at the top.
