Old Point Loma Lighthouse
Nearby is the Old Point Loma Lighthouse that sits 422 feet above the ocean making it the highest ocean lighthouse in the country. It was only in operation from 1855-1891 due to the fog that would obscure the light. As a result a new lighthouse was built at the bottom of the hill.
