The factory used lots of sheet metal screws to hold down things under the hood of muscle cars. They work pretty well and are fast to install but just don't look that great. Besides, with a lumpy cam and heavy components attached, they could loosen and are easy to strip out if over tightened.

We like the look of stainless steel button head hex machine screws against a satin black finish. So, went about the task of converting everything under the hood to accept this type of fastener. It is a lot of work but we feel it will pay off when the car is done. If you are interested in these photo's you will probably understand.
