Start at the very bottom of the head ( I usually start behind the ear)place a dot of glue and push the braid into it so the folded clean edge points away from the head .The piece thats folded will always be underneath.The reason you want to have it folded is that as you build up the braids it will create that geometrical look so favoured by the egyptians.Adjust the lenghth of each single braid at the top where you glue it and cut any excess off with embroidery scissors.I usually glue a few pieces then cut once it gets a little tacky.
