These are my sewing machines

I am now the proud owner of an Antique Singer Treadle sewing machine! It was built in 1897 and was owned by two people prior to me...the original owner and the woman that I bought it from. The woman that I bought it from, bought it directly from the original owner's family at auction. They told her the history of the machine, which she relayed on to me. The original owner sewed on the machine alot, and her family tried and tried to convince her to buy an electrical machine, to which she refused. I just love knowing a little of the history of the machine and will often think of this woman when I sit down to sew on it.

I own a Janome 6600 P, and its computerized...just love that machine. I also own the Janome 6500/6600P Yahoo group and we have over 3000 members! I also own a Janome 1600P for use on my Hinterberg Machine Quilting Frame. Actually, Steve bought me the Hinterberg machine quilting frame for Christmas 2002. Its so cool! You can read more about the Hinterberg at www.hinterberg.com. AND...I recently purchased a Handi-Quilter 16 inch long arm, sit-down model...it sits in a table instead of on a frame, although I am hoping to someday be able to adapt it to work in my Hinterberg machine quilting frame. I will have to get the extension kit for the hinterberg frame so that it can accommodate a longer arm machine...and a new carriage. All in due time. But for now, I'm quite happy with the sit down model as I much prefer to move the quilt under the machine rather than move the machine over the quilt.
