Art Deco radio lamp Aug 2005
A client bought this old wooden (1930s/40s?) valve radio ...what we used to call a "wireless"... on Ebay for £10 ($19) and brought it to me (without its innards), wanting a single glass piece inserting behind the fretwork. I cajoled him into commissioning a simple 8-piece foiled panel made in 3 different Spectrum creamy-browns.The flat-at-the-front beads lie behind the fretwork. I put a plywood back on the box, added a bulbholder and switch, and set a pygmy 15-watt bulb at the "hotspot" of the sunset. Fun little job.
