WHIMSICAL
Jennifer, one of today's lovely brides, dreamed up this cake, and I just loved it! It is truly whimsical and contemporary, and it's guaranteed to be delicious. The bottom tier was dark, rich fudge with fudge filling. The next tier up was French Vanilla with raspberry filling and swiss chocolate icing. The second tier was milk chocolate with mocha filling and almond icing, and the top tier was fannnntastic strawberry with cream cheese filling. The top tier had little vines coming down, the others were decorated with happy swirls, large lace and very large polka dots. What a combination! I don't think the flowers went very well with the cake, either the color or the flower choice (AND NEITHER DID THE BRIDE, BY THE WAY) because purple simply doesn't look good aesthetically with brown! I don't know who the florist was on this one, but it wasn't anyone on my "great" list. I would have chosen a few cream colored lilies with perhaps half a dozen brown roses with some almond-colored filler flowers. The cake sells for $2.50/serving because the combination and the shape are more time consuming than most cakes that I do. If you're looking for something different, this is it!
