February, A time to display our hearts

Although the coloring is way off (should be purple & teal) I created this Filet Heart/Reverse Filet Heart Preemie Baby Afghan which will be donated to the Danbury Hospital, along with others from our Crochet Club. It was created as one piece (instead of four separate blocks) to eliminate seams which could be uncomfortable for a preemie. It is 18" square, and created with 2-ply yarn that's nearly as soft as silk. The "Bushy" stitch was used for the border, and I think it adds just the right touch. -----------The Bushy Stitch ----------- Ch 25 loosely. Row 1: (Dc, ch 2, sc) in fourth ch from hook, * skip next 2 chs, (2 dc, ch 2, sc) in next ch; repeat from * across. Row 2: Ch 2, turn; (2 dc, ch 2, sc) in first ch-2 sp and in each ch-2 sp across. Repeat Row 2 until piece at desired size. Finish off.
