Another View of the 175mm Pulley Kit
Here is a clear view of the 175mm crank pulley and the new tensioner to the left - you can see how tight the tolerances are and how close everything fits. Also you can see the new timing pointer mounted on the oil pan - it is held in place by two 10mm oil pan bolts. I removed the original timing pointer by grinding it off. Also in this picture you can see the Supercharger outlet turned 180degrees and pointing to the front of the car and the TRD front sway bar. I am impressed with the increased power with the Nevo pulley, where the HKS unit had to be revved to get the car into boost the Nevo set-up brings the torque curve down to a much lower useable rpm level. On other words its easy to be driving and a slight stab of the throttle and you're in the 5-8psi range and accelerating rapidly, the throttle response is very crisp and handing out humbling sessions could be full time job :). Also the MUCH ligher 175mm crank pulley has reduced a fair bit of parasitic drag on the engine itself. The 4AGZE engine is loaded with pulleys, tensioners, and accessories so I am not surprised that Toyota decided to supercharge this engine otherwise it would be a sloth! I cannot imagine having A\C on this engine, with the extra plumbing and engine load. After I installed the Nevo kit, there was major belt slippage and my Autometer boost gauge would register only about 7-8psi, so I had to really crank down the tensioner to get the extra 50% increase in boost. The car finally feels like it has the power to match the suspension.
