When I shop at CVS, I am always looking around the pharmacy for the shopping list or magazines that have coupons. Unfortunately, I*ve never found the shopping list with coupons that so many of you have found. Recently, I picked up a free summer edition of "aisle 1"(magazine). It had a few coupons that I clipped, but I didn*t recognize any that I could immediately use. However, when I went to Kroger the next day, I found a bargain. They had Body For Life Shakes B1G1F. One of the coupons I had clipped was for B1G1F, so I came home with 2 free packages (each package has 4 shakes) - they normally sell for $5.99 each so that was almost $12 free by combining the sale with the coupon.
The following day I visited CVS and picked up 3 more magazines to get 3 more coupons. Then, I went to Kroger and got 6 more free packages. The coupons beeped so the cashier had to call for the manager. The manager just slide his little key across the scanner and I was a happy shopper. The cashier commented on what a good deal I had gotten. I purchased other items and used coupons. When I shop, I don*t like negative or zero balances as they call too much attention to the shopper.
During the week, I visited CVS a few more times and picked up another magazine each time. Then, I went to Kroger and got 6 more free. The cashier was really sweet, "Wow. That*s really cool. You saved $36."
The very next week, Foodtown had Vlasic Pickle Relish on sale for 49 cents. I had 50, 55, 60 and 75 cent coupons from both the Sunday paper and blinkie machines. When I pulled the 55 cent coupons from the blinkie machine, I thought the chances are not very good that I*d ever use these as none of the stores double 55 cent coupons. So when I saw it on sale for 49 cents, I couldn*t believe I was actually going to get use those coupons. I picked up 16 jars on my first trip to Foodtown. It sounds like a lot and it looked like a lot, but fortunately there were plenty left on the shelf for others. I wasn*t sure what the cashier would do. So, I was pleasantly surprised when she took all 16 coupons. They each beeped so she put them in by hand. She said,"It looks like you*re going to have lots of hot dogs." The next customer in line agreed with her.
The next day, I went to another Foodtown and picked up 16 more jars of pickle relish. I gave 3 coupons to a lady who was looking at the pickles and had a few coupons in her hand. She was very glad to get the coupons. Then, she asked, "Do you think they will take all 3 coupons?" I assured her they would. I didn*t have the nerve to tell her that I planned to use 16 coupons. Later, that day I went back and used my last 15 coupons.
I think my family will be able to drink all the shakes, but the BCAM food pantry is going to be the recipient of lots of pickle relish. The neat thing about the pickle relish and shakes is that they did not cost me a penny except for my time and gas. I did not purchase the coupons. I just found them at the store and saved them until a sale came along.
My grand daughter, Desiree*, was excited about being in the picture with me.
