I wish I lived in an area where they double or triple coupons,but since I don't I try to make the most of what I have here.There's only an HEB and a Walmart Supercenter here in Bastrop,TX. If I want to get double or triples I have to travel about 40 miles to Austin,TX. I do that every so often, but with the price of gas today it isn't always worth it.
Just the same, every so often I can do Okay with just coupons. Walmart Supercenter had Riceland rice at .44 for a 1lb. box. So I sent away for some .35 coupons reasonably priced . I was able to get about 100 lbs. fro $4.40 Plus the price of the coupons.It came to $9.40 total- not free but a good price nonetheless.
What will I do with all of it?Well we eat rice almost every day, and I will use every bit of it since my husband and I are on a fixed income(seniors). Also I gave some to my kids. I just want to thank all of you good people who post their good deals on Centsible Chat because you've helped me to get many a good deal I wouldn't have heard about otherwise.
By the way, I e-mailed this picture to my daughter- in- law, and she showed it to all her fellow workers because she was so proud of me. That made me feel very good.
Another experience I had was when I went to Walgreens near Randalls in Austin,Tx. I found some .75 Purell Hand Sanitizer coupons. It said good on any size. So I grabbed about 20 from one of those machines near the product. People had put them back on top of the machine. I took them to Walmart supercenter in Bastrop. I got the trial size for .50 The coupon scanned with no problem. So I made a .25 profit and will sell them at my yearly garage sale for .25 each as well as give some to my kids. It pays to check those blinkie machines.
Another way I found to get some good gift certificates is by signing up for the special deal that the Discover card has until the end of May. They are giving 5% bonus cash on everything you buy at Home Depot and some other stores like Bed,Bath and Beyond.Since we had to make a $5000 purchase on something there I was able to get 5 $25 certificates for Bed,Bath and Beyond. These only cost me the $20 cash bonus because that store is one of their special deals. Then I used the 2 20% off coupon on 2 big items and saved some more.
I can honestly say that Iv'e learned alot from being an R.C. subsciber and all you great people out there who clue us in to great deals. Thanks a bunch.
