Albertson’s and the Johnson & Johnson Deal By Glenda Edmunds Just when I thought I would never see a good deal again (yes, I had been whining), Johnson & Johnson put the fun back into couponing! I had been sick, and hadn’t checked Centsible chat in a few days, but when I did, I realized I had to get out to Albertson’s! Of course my initial store visit found the BandAid shelf totally wiped out. Undaunted, I decided if I couldn’t make money on the deal, I would at least get some free items after my initial purchase. I didn’t have a lot of coupons, but quickly figured out combinations of items that would bring me closest to $10 after coupons. My personal best found me paying only $0.13 on a transaction. I was able to go into the store 3 times, and do 5 different transactions each time. The first time I went into the store, I waited for things to slow down and then checked out so I didn’t have a line behind me. For my second and third trips, I waited until a Saturday night at 9:30 pm when things begin to slow down and there wouldn’t be a line behind me. That way I can concentrate, and I don’t feel guilty holding things up. The cashiers couldn’t have been nicer! They congratulated me on such great savings! I absolutely love my local Albertson’s because they want my business and think I am the smartest shopper, especially when I give them a pile of coupons! Fortunately, on my second and third trips into the store, the Band Aids had been restocked! The reach floss had also been restocked! There weren’t many left, but I was thankful to find what I did. Wow, this was even more exciting than my first trip into Albertson’s! Care Bear and Superman (Band Aids) never looked cuter! I was able to start buying items such as individual portions of frozen wild Salmon to come up with a $10 purchase each time. It took me a while to find the Reach toothpaste. I didn’t realize that it was the kid type in the stand-up tubes! I spent $10 on my first purchase, but still have a $10 catalina. Total spent on my 15 transactions was under $5.00. I figure the retail SALE price on these items before tax was about $110. Not to mention I was able to get 5 Albertson’s clip and save coupon books for future savings! For my meager outlay of $5, I was able to get 10 Stayfree pads 24 count, 15 boxes OB tampons (forgot to put in the picture!), 11 Wild Pacific Salmon portions, 2 packages of gum, 4 Reach dental floss, 4 Clean & Clear facial cleansers, 9 Reach toothpastes, 4 J&J Bedtime Bath, 2 J&J Cotton Swabs, 3 J&J Buddies, and 11 bandaids. (see picture of my youngest son, David with my stockpile). I was blown away by this great deal! I would say this was an awesome promo by Johnson & Johnson! Or as my teenage boys would say, SWEET! Hope that you all had as much fun on this deal as I did!
