I had an absolutely SUPER shopping day yesterday thanks to all the tips from Michele in her in Updates and from all my fellow RCers in CENTsible Chat. On my lunch break I first went to CVS. I had read about the ExtraCare deal to receive $5 when you spend $10 on Colgate products. I ended up buying 4 Soft Soap body wash (using $2 coupons), one Soft Soap hand soap (using .35 coupon) and one bundle of Irish Spring (using .30 coupon). My total was only $2.42 and I will be getting $5 back in ExtraCare rewards.
My next trip was across the parking lot to ACME. I wanted to get in on the Johnson & Johnson deal everyone was talking about for $10 when you purchase 5 qualifying products. I bought 5 boxes of Band-Aids and a 12 pack of Diet Max Cola. After using five .55 Band-Aid coupons, my total was $2.29 and out printed a $10 coupon for my next purchase! I brought these things out to the car and then went back in to buy 5 more Band-Aids (I only had 3 .55 coupons left, but it was still a good deal) and two Whiskas cat treats (with 55/2 coupon) for a total of only $3.31 with another $10 coupon printing! Unfortunately, in my excitement over the Band-Aid deal I totally forgot about the Oral-B free toothbrush deal - - oh, well.
After those two trips I was already late getting back from my lunch break, so I had to wait until after work to shop again. On my way to pick up my husband at the train station, I stopped at Rite-Aid. I bought the Oral-B toothbrush and three .99 Colgate toothbrushes (each using a $1 coupon) and paid $5.44 0 but will be getting $4.99 from my monthly Rite-Aid rebate. (I had already gotten the other FARs earlier in the week.) After I picked up my hubby he went with me to my last stop at Walgreens. There I bought another Oral B toothbrush, FAR contact solution and Poli-Grip strips (with $1 coupon) for a total of $15.57 and I will be getting $16.46 back after the monthly rebate, since I get the extra 10% for putting the rebate on a Walgreens gift card. So, once everything was said and done, I paid only $29.03 out of pocket for everything in the picture, will be getting $21.45 back in refunds and have $25 in checkout coupons to spend at CVS and ACME for a net PROFIT of $17.42!!!
