Its’ Travel Time! My five year old daughter Vivienne, three year old son Rockwell, Fifteen month old daughter Ava, and I began our journey at the Pensacola airport. Today is the day we are going to visit Nana and Papa! AirTran tickets were found at the cheap price of $50 a piece from Pensacola into the Atlanta airport! We only needed three tickets since children two and under are allowed to sit in their parents lap at no charge. The flight was only an hour long, and after the kids drank their juice, ate their airline pretzels and inspected the gold wings that the steward gave each of them, we were there! Papa met us at the gate and the kids ran into his arms! We drove from Atlanta up to Chattanooga TN. Nana was greeted with hugs and kisses, but the excitement was only beginning! One of the luxuries in Chattanooga is two Targets in close proximity to my parent’s home. Armed with this knowledge before we had even made the trip, I traded with a fantastic lady, Pat L. that I met through the RC trading board and regularly depend on for my coupon needs. I arranged to have the coupons delivered to my parents’ home, and sure enough they arrived right on time! One of the local Target stores is next door to a Chuck E Cheese. I had five Chuck E Cheese coupons for ten free tokens each that I found on packages of 3-count push pops in the candy isle at Food World (on clearance for 79 cents a piece). My mom, my brother, the kids, and myself with coupons in hand loaded up and headed out. The kids had never been to Chuck E Cheese before and at first the only thing they wanted to do was play on the jungle gym, but it didn’t take them long to figure out what the tokens were for! Fifty tokens later with 523 tickets, this includes some that my brother had from earlier, we made our way to the prize counter. Vivienne picked out a Spongebob Squarepants stationary set for 500 tickets and Rockwell got a spider ring for 15 tickets, I gave the left over tickets to a lady with four kids and headed for the exit. The kids really wanted a balloon so they asked the girl at the door and she gave them each one from her podium! Now off to Target!! We made our way to the trial size section via the end cap clearance areas. I found Kellogg’s Twistables fruit snacks marked down to $1.38 each and I had two $1 off one coupons. Finally I was face to face with the trial size Clean and Clear face wash, I had 17 $1 off coupons and they were marked down from 99 cents to 84 cents! I tossed those into the cart, picked up three Dove facial cleansing cloths marked down to 84 cents, which I also had $1 coupons for. I threw three Advil trial size for 99 cents each into the cart to go with my $1 coupons and then picked up one trial size Neutrogena facial soap marked down to 55 cents. I had the Target store coupon for $2 off any Neutrogena product, but I didn’t want to push my luck. I picked up two regular size Neutrogena facial soaps that were $2.02 a piece, a box of 40 count Tampax with a bonus of 7 free on sale for $4.50 (I had a 50 cent coupon on those) and went for the check out. The cashier was really nice she had to override every single coupon that I used on trial size and manually enter the Target store coupons because the barcode was blurry, and she never complained. She said “my Mom would really like to meet you!” I saw later that she had missed a coupon but my total was .09 cents plus tax-so I am not complaining! Another attribute of the area is BiLo! They double coupons up to 60 cents. One look at their sale ad and I was emailing Pat L. for coupons. In record time she sent me 20 Capri Sun Juicers $1 off one box coupons, and 20 Nature’s Valley Granola bars 50 cents off one box coupons. Both items were buy one get one free at BiLo. I also thought to look at Smartsource.com and check their coupons-and found a great 50 cents off Barilla pasta coupon. I was able to print four of those and then we set out for the grocery store. The granola bars ended up coming to 50 cents a box, the fruit snacks were 25 cents a box, and the pasta was completely FREE! Of course I will have to try printing more coupons! The visit with my family has been great! Luckily, I am renting a car to return home instead of flying back. However, I would love to see the look on a luggage inspector’s face if he opened up a bag and found 20 boxes of fruit snacks and 17 mini bottles of face wash with micro bead cleaning action. At least the kids will have plenty of snacks for the road! Khristy B. Elberta, AL
