Hair Color Anyone? Earlier this year Walgreen’s ran a special on their 100% Garnier Hair coloring. Their sale price was $4 and the same week there were $4/ 1 Garnier coupons. I knew I had to act fast to get in on this deal. I traded for coupons begging and pleading for them. I ended up trading with 6 different people in order to get 60 coupons. I also paid one trader for priority shipping as she had the most and I wanted to make sure I got the coupons in time for the sale. On the last two days of the sale, I hit all of the Walgreen’s in the surrounding towns. I was able to get 60 boxes of free hair color and just paid the tax. The regular price was $7.99 per box for a total of 479.40 plus sales tax of $33.55 (7%) here in Florida. The total before sale price and coupons was $512.95. The sale price took the price from $479.40 - $239.40 = $240 - $240 in coupons made them free. So for an investment of $33.55 plus the cost of coupons and shipping of $12.85 which came to $46.40 or the cost of 6 boxes. So basically I got 54 boxes for free. There was also a promotion from Garnier for gift certificates that you could earn by sending in the box bottom. I was able to get gift certificates to Borders and to my local spa. I also traded some of the box bottoms for other items I could use like wine tags, peelies, tear pad, etc. I kept the colors I use, I let the women I work with choose what they could use, I sold some in my yard sale for $3/box, and the rest were donated to a local charity. The charity was so happy to get them as they rarely get hair color they said. I have so much fun with this hobby/way of life. People ask me how much time I spend a day on my couponing and how I find time to work on this hobby especially since I work full time. My reply is I usually spend 2-3 hours a day on line, looking for coupons, and rebates, and trading with other couponers. My response to their question of how do I find time is “How do I not find the time to do this in order to save the amount of money that I do?” Couponing and rebating has become a way of life my me and my husband. We are able to enjoy things that we would not be able to if it weren’t for this little hobby of mine. Lisa, FL
