These photos are of descendants of James Skaggs and Elizabeth Miller Skaggs. They were married in 1805 and had 13 children. Many are descended from them several times, and it would be hard to find someone in the Ansted area who is not related to them somehow.

The photos were contributed by David S. Skaggs, unless otherwise noted. The Skaggs and Steele families intermarried often; some of James Valentine Skaggs's daughters are shown with their families in the Steele album.
