Welcome Mat Greetings! My name is Suzanne and I live on the shores of beautiful, clean Lake Superior in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, the Great Lakes state (hence, suzanne "am I" in MI) -- "Say yah! to da U.P., eh?" ;o) I am still married to my high school sweetheart (going on 24 years) and have one son who has graduated. Our pets include a Gordon Setter named Monty, a "Millenium Baby" Maltese named Oliver, and I am a first-time cat owner with two Tonkinese sibling boys, Bailey and Dexter. What do I collect? My husband would say hobbies. {lol} Not being content with one craft, I cycle thru my passions ~ embellished/crazy quilting, beading, polymer clay, embroidery, dyeing (rayon lace, Venice lace, silk ribbon, fabrics, yarns, fleece and fibers), bead-knit bags, handspinning, ... AND I am now working with GLASS! Muahahahaha! I also dabble in rubber stamping, stenciling, knitting, crochet, hardanger, pulled/drawn-thread needlework, samplers, basketweaving, soapmaking, punch-hooked rugs, and I taught myself to shuttle tat this year! This also means that I can never buy just *one* of anything. I just can't make up my mind which color would be best, so I buy several ~ I mean, why get one when you can get 10! Consequently, I have a yarn store in the basement, a fleece shop in the cedar closet, a bead emporium in the spare bedroom, fabric stashes, plus fibers and threads and books ... Oh, my! In the future, I would like to learn how to marble paper and fabric, and cook up some fabulous papers with the Grummer papermaking kit I have yet to use ... I look forward to sharing my obsessions with y'all. Warm regards, suzanneMI [March 2001 \ revised Oct. 2003] |
