Tony (Laura M's uncle) ...
... me and my mom, Linda, on Christmas Eve 1980. I am 6 and Tony is 24. This is at my grandparents house in Shoals, IN where Tony and my mom grew up and it is the same house my grandparents live in to this day. There are so many wonderful memories of Christmases in this house. We were a small family, only five of us, but we always joked that meant more presents for everyone! Of course with Tony and I being the "babies" of the family we always got more presents than anyone. The rest of the family said we were spoiled rotten! There was a special bond between Tony and I that was more than just uncle and niece. I am an only child and Tony never had children so he was the closest thing to a big brother for me and I was the closest thing to a daughter for him. He was always checking out my boyfriends and deciding if they were good enough for me. He really liked my husband Chris and was a part of my wedding. His co-workers told me at his funeral that he talked about me as if I was his own. Many people have said we even look alike and my family says I remind them so much of him because of our similar personalities. This will be our first Christmas without him and I do not know how we are going to get through it. We will just have to remember the twinkle in his eye and his spirit, which is now forever free. He will be spending Christmas with my Dad this year. We love and miss you so much Uncle T. His loving niece, Laura Ann
