My wife and I flew from Manchester (UK)to Washington DC for a week in October 2004. We were accompanied by two "internet friends" from the UK, and in Washington we met up with four American "internet friends" (for the second time). Six of us stayed at the Wyndham Hotel, 1400 M Street NW, and two of us stayed at the Helix Hotel, Rhode Island Avenue NW. Both hotels were excellent. (The Helix was a zany psychedelic riot of a place, but the two who stayed there said it was great).

These photos do not do justice to the elegant quality of Washington, but I hope they give a slight taste of it. They are a combination of shots from an Olympus "steam-driven camera" (using film)and stills captured from a Sony Camcorder.
