When I work from your photos, the quality of the photos you send me is crucial to the accuracy and quality of the finished portrait.   You may send me 2 or more photos of your pet, but please let me know which one is your favorite pose.

Some tips to keep in mind:

1.       Get as CLOSE as possible without blurring the image.

2.       Focus on your pet's FACE and head.

3.       Take the photos OUTDOORS in good natural light (a bright overcast day works best).

4.       The best view of your pet is usually THREE-QUARTERS.

5.       Try to keep the background LIGHT or uncomplicated.

6.       Take photos from SEVERAL ANGLES or different poses

I can only work with what I can see, if you have a particular expression, ear set etc. that you want in the portrait be sure that it is in the photos.  GOOD CLOSE-UP PHOTOS enable me to give you an ACCURATE PORTRAIT!

Portraits will be painted in either Oils or Acrylics on Canvas (unframed)

Please allow at least one month (oils)  or two weeks (acrylic) from the time I receive your photos until you receive your portrait.  

Oil paintings will be sprayed with a Retouch Varnish, as they have to dry for 6 months or more before they can be varnished.  You will receive 

instructions for applying the varnish yourself, or you can send the portrait back to me for varnishing.
