Kaleidoscopes by Frank & Janet Higgins We founded our Stained Glass studio in Camberley, UK in 1984 under the name "Kaleidoscope Stained Glass" but it wasn't until the mid-90's that we started to design and build Kaleidoscopes. Our aim was to make high-quality playthings for grown-ups, concentrating equally on innovative design, the internal images and the external presentation. We are members of the Brewster Kaleidoscope Society and are the only UK Kaleidoscope Studio to be featured in the prestigious US "Kaleidoscope Collectors' Handbook". All our Kaleidoscopes are handmade in our studio. Our output is not large, so they will remain rarities. All of our 'scopes contain precision optical components, in particular we use high-grade front-surface mirror to produce incredibly sharp images through multiple reflections. We have a large palette of glass from around the world both for the image-producing objects and for the external casings. Our range of designs is limited only by time and imagination The pictures you see here are examples of some of our more popular Kaleidoscopes. There are following albums which explore each type in more detail and which give examples of the stunning internal images which they produce. You will find a record of our recent new development work in a separate set of albums at |
