Marie Saddle, Coeur d'Alene NF,ID
On our September 2001 trip to the Pacific Northwest, we were overjoyed to find SO MANY good access roads into the various National Forests in the Idaho Panhandle. But then we discovered these roads were not recreationists' roads but logging roads. So, instead of leading to stunning overlooks or having many cozy, informal campsites, they merely traversed the wooded mountains by the shortest possible route. One such road is the one to Marie Saddle. Even though 5 dirt roads converged here, there wasn't a single off-road campsite. So we leveled up in a wide place in the road.
