My Finnish Grandparents wedding photo/1904 on vell
There are lots of lovely photoart stamps available, and I love them. But, what fun to make a card for that special occasion, or someone with a old photo that you have photocopied onto vellum,or light colored suede paper. When digging thru a draw in my stamp room today I came across a piece of darker green vellum that I had photocopied a picture of my Finnish grandparents wedding picture. The original photo was taken in 1904. I photocopied the original wedding picture on the copier at our office in B/W to make sure it wasn't too dark. I then photocopied that copy onto vellum. Not much stamping was done on this card, but I did lots of layering. The polished stone background hardly shows. You have to experiment...some pictures look better on lighter color vellum, some on dark, and some photos don't turn out well at all, as they are too dark or light. Card:Tore around the edges, and layered it onto gold toned wallpaper that was also torn. Layered that onto a piece of polished stone background paper. Layered again...this time on black glossy. Stamped a speckled olive green background on cream colored cardstock. Edged with gold leaf pen. Then added gold embroidery floss, and a button. Stamped Love is in the air, cut with deckle scissors, edged with gold leafing pen.
