STEPHEN F. DOMINIQUE
Dominique chose a combination of dots and scrollwork for her beautiful cake at Stephen F. Austin--one of my favorite venues. It's WONDERFUL, although a little pricey if you're on a tight budget. The cake sells for only $2.50/serving and has a light ivory homemade buttercream frosting. Chocolate brown ribbon encircles each tier, and the tier designs include single dots on top, then Swiss dots, Riverplace Scroll(a single row around the middle) and the Hannah Scroll where the small round scrollwork covers the cake. She chose a variety of fillings including the two most popular--Bavarian Cream and Raspberry. Beautiful flowers provided by Craig and arranged by Austin Cake Lady included beautiful pinkish-orange roses, hot pink lilies, white orchids, delicate sweetpeas that ranged from butter to pale orange, and a few sweet-fragranced stephanotis accented the bouquet. This cake serves 136 including the top tier. Dominique also had a two-tier groom's cake which is in the grooms' cake albums. It's been our experience that one slice of cake per person is a good rule of thumb when buying your cakes. Some cake vendors will tell you "get a slice of each cake for each person"--beware of those and solicit their help in helping you to carry home the leftovers! :-) For everyone who eats two slices, there is someone who doesn't eat any at all, especially if there is alcohol being served or a full meal. Be sure and include your photographer, DJ/band, catering staff, etc.in your count because they all LOVE cake! :-) Our phone number is 258-3703 and we'd love to answer questions for you, and we'd especially like to create the beautiful cake(s) of your dreams for your big day!
