Untitled (Unicorn)
Made in a w/s with Nancy Gawron in spring of 2003. Modified the body and head (prefer the traditional 'horse' interpretation and not the 'goat') and used a wonderful spiral shell for the horn instead of the horn provided. Felted flowers, leaves and vines (not part of the w/s) were added in May to complete. Ewa Kuniczak - a wonderful felter from Scotland - liked her so much she put her in her latest book, published in 2004. (Note: This is a perfect example of what I said about the clock doll in the 'DIPS' album...I made the unicorn, but what I saw as the completed unicorn could not be achieved at the time, until along came Ewa to the US again, lol, and she had just was I was looking for with the lightly felted flowers and felted wires...patience IS a wonderful thing, as is knowing thyself, lol)
