The Salem Express provided ferry service between Egypt & Saudi Arabia (450 nautical miles). In 1991 this vessel struck a reef and sunk within 20 minutes.

The Salem Express was loaded with 650 people and many cars. The official death toll was 470. This is one of the Red Sea's largest amd most tragic wrecks.
