Happy Rufus
The rescue that came and never left! This photo was taken the day Rufus came for a visit....and we fell in love The golden rescue had brought Rufus and another dog for a visit. They were supposed to meet a prospective family who cancelled out at the last minute. Rufus and friend came for a picnic anyway and Rufus followed Al around all day. He had heartworm so he had no interest in playing but he warmed our heart. He went back with the rescue to get his treatment and 3 days later came to live with us. We continued his follow-up and he made a great recovery...although we discovered he had Babesia and degenerative eye disease. He was treated and did very well for 6 years before developing a large tumor. We had 6 wonderful years together and he developed into a wonderful dog who overcame his fear of water (can you imagine a golden not liking water?)
