Home Again I just dont understand it, Baby Bear sighed, as he looked at his empty bed. No one has been sleeping in my bed, either, called out Mama Bear, And yours looks pretty neat, as well, Herb. This is starting to scare me. I know what you mean, Miriam. I havent liked it from the beginning. Maybe we should call Inspector Forrester and see what he thinks. He reached for the phone. Granny! continued Riley, Pwease come to me. I WO-O-O-O-OVE you so much! Then . It happened. Riley heard that familiar voice, speaking to the bears. Oh, you dont need to phone the police. This is a very simple matter. You see, Riley...my little granddaughter KNOWS the story of The Three Bears and she didnt want to complicate things for you or upset you. If you look under your bed, Herb, youll find her there. She just wants to come home. Papa Bear peeked under the bed and laughed when he saw the wide eyes of the frightened tot. Riley scrambled into her Grannys arms and said, Oh, Granny, I WISHED so hard for you to come and you did. The big red bird was right. But how do we get home? I want to go home so much. Granny answered, Why, we get home the same way that we came here. Theres a big, old rocking chair right there. How about we sit down and have a snuggle. Granny gave a thankful nod to the three bears and Riley gave them a tentative wave. No sooner had they seated themselves, than Riley, once again, felt her eyelids droop and the room swirl around her. Suddenly, she opened her eyes and she was back in her room, sitting on Grannys lap. Grannys eyes peeked open, too, and twinkled at her little granddaughter. That was WOTS of fun, Granny. Wets do that again tomorrow! Well do that, Riley OSmiley! And Granny smiled, knowingly. |
