Roofing Details
This picture shows the new Felt Paper being installed to overlap the “Peel and stick” type membrane is used in all valleys of your roof to better prevent future possible leaks. Also known as “storm guard, or weather and ice shield” this membrane is adhesive and sticks to the wood in valleys and other transitional planes on your roof, such as at a shed roof transition. By replacing the felt paper, the wood below can be inspected for rot. Rot is a live organism which will grow and contaminate the nearby wood, as a cancer would. The new felt is necessary as a final defense in your new roof. Should a high wind remove a shingle, that felt paper, and the membrane will keep your ceiling and contents dry until the roof can be repaired! Now that is cheap insurance!
