This rock-solid girl has been an integral part of our family here at Southern Sands Kennels for the past 4 years! She came to us in the early spring of 2004 and has been nothing but a pure delight to us from that moment on. Mae is a highly intelligent girl with a very noble and grounded demeanor. :) She has the heart and spirit of a grand lioness! Nothing rattles sturdy Miss Mae. She is just a pillar of strength in every possible way.

We have now decided to let Mae bring joy to another lucky home where she will live happily for the rest of her entire life. She has mothered 3 OUTSTANDING litters for us and has done her "duty" beautifully. This gal has earned her retirement in grand style! We are blessed to be able to enjoy her children and grandchildren through the years as we continue to develop our line.

Mae is leash trained and a good traveler. She will be fully brushed back up on her housetraining and crate training as well. She is a highly confident and friendly girl who warms up nicely to new people. And being here with our cats, she has learned to respect them, too. Mae gets along well with other dogs, but she is an alpha girl, so she always likes to be in charge with them and maintain her position as THE BOSS. Therefore, her ideal home is where she will be the one and only pampered doggie or the only female.

Mae is very well behaved and obedient with her people and is just a joy to know!!! She has been many places and met many people in her life so far, and she should adjust to her new home and family with relative ease. Because we do not have any small children ourselves, though, we usually do not place our grown dogs in homes with children. We wish for Mae to go to a mature person or couple who has a moderately active lifestyle. She likes to get outside for some regular exercise, so outdoorsy people are the best for her. As well as being a steadfast companion, Mae will make a good traveling partner, the most IDEAL hunting buddy and even an agility/obedience competator! She is a serious outdoor athelete.

Mae's conformation is exemplary. She is a gorgeous female Rat Terrier with super-sharp standing ears, a great scissors bite and robust conformation in a nice, hearty package. She is exquisitely put together and a fabulous representative of the breed with her pleasing, sparky nature. Mae is AKC-FSS, UKC, UKCI and NRTR registered. Her papers will be provided to her new owner upon the time she is received.

Mae will be spayed soon, so that and a fresh dental polishing will be done prior to her placement. All of her healthcare including her vaccinations and heartworm prevention are up to date, and her patellas and cardiac status are OFA certified for full verification of her excellent health. Her new owner will also be supplied with her thorough health record, written health guarantee, comprehensive pedigree and a little red "goodie bag" of many complimentary items including a packet of her super-premium kibble, etc.
