Henrietta Lugowski - Class of 67'
On September 8, 1967 Henrietta Lugowski vacated Detroit to enroll in the order of the Carmellite Sisters for the Aged and Infirm at St. Theresa's Motherhouse. Henrietta received her habit on March 19, 1968 and was Professed on April 6, 1970 - thus Henrietta was named Sr. Catherine Anne O'Carm. Sr. Catherine's first assignment was at Carmel Hall in Detroit on Woodward Ave. Her duties there included taking care of the sick and infirm. At that time she also attended Grace Hospital School of Nursing. While attending said hospital she decided to continue full time and left the Carmellite Order on March 8, 1974 at which time had her name legally changed to Catherine Anne. Catherine Anne graduated from nursing school on September, 1976. Henrietta applied her nursing skills at Carmel Hall, a physician's office, and private duty in Intensive Care where needed. Catherine Anne was involved in an automobile accident on January 20, 1979 where she spent 43 days in intensive care at Botsford Osteopathic Hospital and succumbed to her demise on March 4, 1979.
