LAUREN'S PINK ROSES
One of today's beautiful cakes was for Lauren, and her reception was at the Marriott La Frontera. The folks are all sooo nice there always, and it's a good and convenient venue. The cake has alternated tiers of French Vanilla with red raspberry filling and Mexican Vanilla with a hint of lemon and almond and with Bavarian Cream filling. The cake serves 204 (and we did an extra tier on the side for 40 just in case they eat all the big cake!) The top tier has a monogram framed by a string of pearls. Pink ribbons encircle all tiers, and the embellishment is a combination of scrollwork and puffed hearts accented with silver dragees (little sparkly edible beads) on all tiers. Tealight candles surround the bottom tier (we can't put the silver metal tealights on the cake but we CAN use the clear plastic kind. I think the candles give it so much atmosphere! :-) The floral topper has pink roses, pink sweetheart roses, ruskus (for a little greenery that shows up nicely in pictures) and some white filler flowers called Wax Flowers. The cake sells for $2.50/serving in both flavors mentioned above. Cake flowers arranged by Austin Cake Lady, free as part of our service to our brides.
