In the year 2000 I did a residency at Chateau de Chassy in the Morvan region of France. It was a magical experience and I shall forever be grateful to Frederique Tison, the owner of the Chateau, for the opportunity to have this experience. She also kindly invited my husband and 3 young daughters to share the experience. I have wanted to make images of the experience since coming home and the journal quitls and size afforded the opportunity to explore aspects of Chassy.The journal quilts are 22cms wide and 29 cms long. All the fabrics have been hand dyed by me, and many have been stencilled and printed.
