Usually I will sew a pocket for the weight bar but sometimes I will stitch a pocket on keeping the shade flat as in the picture. The stitching is through all thicknesses and was fine for this little girls room.

Susan, I'm curious about fab. this shade. I've always just folded up the bottom, and added a wt bar there. If I add trim to the bottom, and put the wt bar up several inches, do you make a rod pocket thru all thicknesses, and then do side seams or how. Thanks Laura
