GORDES
Not quite a year in Provence, but we did have a day to explore the Luberon region which is east of Avignon. The area is sprinkled with hill towns, most of which was brought to life by Peter Mayle's book "A Year in Provence" which I read before the trip. We ended our tour of the Luberon at the hill town of Gordes. Its magnificent views concluded a wonderful day in the Luberon.
