3" stainless exhaust design and fabrication

Since my engine is expected to put out 550-600 horsepower, I needed a big exhaust system. After trying a couple different Hooker header designs with no success, I almost decided to build my own headers. Then I decided to try a set from Earle Williams of Williams Classic Chassis in California. While not cheap at over $600 a pair, the construction was pretty high quality and the fit was good. They have 2" primary tubes and 3.5" collectors, and will be ceramic metallic coated by Jet Hot after I modify them for my car. Behind that, I chose to use 3" stainless steel tubing for the remainder of the exhaust, as well as 3" Magnaflow mufflers and aircraft-type v-band clamps for the joints. I built an x-pipe and plan to install electric cutouts as well.

It's not easy to get a 3" exhaust system snaked around a transmission crossmember, over a differential, and around a fuel tank. But this shows how I did it.
