Installation of Teleflex-Morse Seastar hydraulic steering

Well, we did it. After trying all summer to get the rack and pinion/cable steering free enough to relax and enjoy boating, I finally decided to remove the entire system, and install a hydraulic steering system instead. I didn't include any pic's of removing the old system, because every boat is different, and it wasn't a pretty site anyway! (Poor girl didn't know what hit her!) Also, the first roll I shot of the parts before assembly, as well as opening the dash, got lost, so I have to start the album from a completely installed helm, sorry. She's happy now, though. Steers like Cadillac.

Thanks to Bob Cushman at www.trojanboats.net, I received all components in perfect working order. This was a *little* more than your typical DIY project, but not outside the scope of the everyday handiman with the right tools, and a friend to turn to for questions. Anyway, click through the pictures to the left, and enjoy. Email me with any questions about this project, I'll be more than glad to give you a few tips and hints. six.bennetts@verizon.netnospam (remove the nospam at the end before writing, it's only there to foil the email address seekers online).
