I think the neatest thing about this technique of painting is being able to envision a particular style or decor, sit down, and make it happen. I love that I can now, with a bit of practice, match or compliment the dishes my friends and family have. That makes it easy to think of neat, one of a kind gifts for special occasions!

The first thing I've done this way are the salt and pepper shakers. I've shown the rose set here, but I've also done Ivy, snowmen, and holly/berries. It takes some practice, because the surface is glass and the brushes are miniscule, but it's well worth it to have boxed sets to give folks to make their holiday tables complete. :)
