EMILEE'S CAKES
My sweet little bride Emilee went through a chain of decisions on her cake--round, square, hearts, dots, happy swirls, two kinds of scrollwork, and a few others. I called to confirm the day before the wedding and she said, "Just make it pretty!" So I did!
The bottom tier is the very popular Hannah Scroll with silver dragees, the center is a variation of the Riverplace Scroll with a scattering of Swiss Dots, and the top tier is a new combination of Swiss Dots and Hearts with silver dragees scattered over all the tiers. Only the bottom tier had ribbon. The flowers by Austin Cake Lady were a lovely combination provided by the bride, and they included wine and gold callas, wine and red hydrangeas, red and orange roses, and a few alstromerias. A separator plate set with pillars holds another bouquet of the beautiful flowers and gives the cake some height. The cake serves 131 and sells for $2.25/serving, and separator plate set is a bit extra. If you look closely, you can see ribbons hanging down on one side of the cake. This is called a "Pull Cake" because silver charms are in the cake and bridesmaids each get to pull one of the ribbons for her silver charm. The reception was at the beautiful new Round Rock venue--Casa Blanca on Brushy Creek! It's truly incredible! The little cake in the foreground is a red drum groom's cake and more details about it are in the groom's cake album.
