Tower Hill 2009 'Flora in Winter'

On Feb 6th 2009, I attended the 7th Annual 'Flora in Winter' flower show at the Tower Hill Botanic Garden. From the brochure: "Enjoy stunning floral interpretations of international destinations and events renowned for their romantic connections". For the price of admission, you got to tour Tower Hill's l'Orangerie (greenhouse) plus see all the beautiful floral arrangements and vignettes that were part of the 'Flora in Winter' show. The arrangements done were very beautiful and creative just what was needed for a pick me up during the middle of dreary winter. Also not a droopy flower anywhere in the show!

Visiting Tower Hill in winter is also such a treat as you can see how the outside plantings look in all seasons. The first couple of photos show the Tower Hill gardens outside. Unfortunately due to the December ice storm the trails are closed. From the walkway in, you can see the trees with berries and the colored bark, stems, conifers etc. Plus the views of the Wachusett Reservoir are beautiful anytime of year.

There is lots going on a Tower Hill so be sure to check out their schedule and try to get there for a visit when a special event is running.
